We had a visiting photographer come to our classroom at NET and took photos of the students in front of our freedom backdrop. The photographer was Dana Singer and she takes photos of working class communities from New Jersey. Students enjoyed looking at her work and had a lot to say about what kind of narratives they got from looking at her photos, and shared personal stories about their families as well!
